Interested in Tea? Over 1 hour we will provide the Marvonnay experience by covering Tea basics, 1 Tea Region and 2 Teas. We will also cover other related topics such as Food Pairings and Tea Travel. By the end of the 1 hour, you'll discover your palate, meet some new people and perhaps join us for the full Tea experience.

To prepare for the class, we recommend you to come with at least one loose-leaf, non-blended and unflavoured tea from any of the following tea types (the recommended varieties are also listed below):

1. White - White Needle (aka Silver Needle or Bai Hao Yin Zhen)

2. Green - Any green (Chinese or Japanese)

3. Oolong - Any oolong (Chinese or Taiwanese)

4. Black - Assam, Ceylon, any other Indian or African black

5. Pur’erh - Any cooked Pu’erh

Feel free to prepare a few different types if you would like to compare their characteristics during class.

We will also have tea preparation instruction during the class, during which you can feel free to follow along and steep your tea on the spot. If you wish to do so, please have the following handy when you are participating in our class:

1. Teapot for steeping the tea and a white (or clear) cup for observing the liquor

2. 1 tsp (about 2g) of your tea

3. 6 oz. (0.75 cup) of hot water per tea – Use water that is slightly below boiling (80-85°C/ 175-185 °F) for White, Green and Oolong; and boiling water (100°C/ 212 °F) for Black and Pu’erh

If you aren’t able to order the product on our website or self-source it, you can still participate virtually.

Taste with you soon!
