About this Event
Join Art Gallery of St. Albert as we explore our latest feature exhibition: Differentiated Realities by Pepe Hidalgo. His works are magical and scientific, allowing us a brief glimpse into alternate realities that we cannot quite grasp.
Born in Spain, and now British Columbia-based, Hidalgo predominantly paints sizeable acrylic works that express many competing states of consciousness. The highly stylized and intricate paintings show a deep understanding and appreciation of art history.
Hidalgo’s paintings are portals. Through them we observe intriguing people, places and objects, interactions that seem both commonplace and bizarre.
Join Emily Baker, Interim Curator, as we escape to an alternate world inspired by mythology, history, astronomy, particle physics and string theory.
