VISION 2020 WEBINAR SERIES

The Salvation Army British Columbia Division Social Services Department has planned a monthly virtual training - Vision 2020 Webinar Series - to be presented from September 2020 to March 2021 (excluding December) for officers, employees and volunteers. With the cancellation of the BC Social Services Conference "Vision 2020: We see what most Don't" in April 2020, we now have an opportunity to utilize our qualified internal and partner organization facilitators for this webinar series. These webinars are reflective of social services programming needs and include:

November 18, 2020 | Pastoral Care in a Social Service Context with Justin Napier (Spiritual Care Coordinator, The Gateway of Hope)

January 20, 2021 | Effects of Childhood Trauma with Kirsten Dolby (The Salvation Army Comox Valley), Dr. Colleen Pawlychka (Douglas College) and Camilla Bjurling (BC Borstal Society)

February 24, 2021 | Effective Case Management with Matthew Craggs (Territorial Consultant for Community and Family Services)

March 24, 2021 | Power of Hospitality: A Real Corps Journey Towards Integrated Mission with Major Donna Simms (Corps Officer, Cambridge Citadel and Community and Family Services)

The tag line we have for Vision 2020 is "We see what most don't". At times, we see the brokenness, the heartbreak, the pain that is experienced by so many who live in poverty and deal with issues of health and wellness, addiction and family stress. We have the opportunity for a brief moment of being invited to 'see' and journey with individuals along a windy path toward spiritual and physical wellness and renewed living situations. This is both a privilege and an opportunity . "We see so we can journey with!!"

Vision 2020 Webinar Series will utilize Zoom video conferencing presented live for participants, and recorded for those unable to attend on the date of the webinar. Each webinar will be held on a Wednesday from 10am-12pm, which will include the webinar presentation and ½ hour opportunity for questions.
