Event description

Description

NOTE: Please RVSP and plan to arrive by 9:30am to clear 3M security before the event begins at 10am.

Join us to celebrate the official end of the award-winning Veterans Memorial Parkway Community Program (VMPCP) for cake, coffee, recognition of the project's accomplishments, and one final tree planting where it all began.

The goal of this partnership between the City of London, Landscape Ontario, the community and local businesses was to enhance the landscape along 10 kilometres of a key gateway into the Forest City and create a long-lasting living tribute to veterans.

By the end of 2017, approximately 3,000 large caliper trees and hundreds of smaller trees and shrubs will have been planted as a result of the VMPCP. Overall, it has been a very successful community program.

And this project could not have happened without your support to get the trees in the ground properly, so that they could survive and grow! We are gratefully to all the volunteers, future professionals, students and graduates from Fanshawe College’s Horticulture Program, businesses and organizations for collaborating together for each tree planting event over the last 8 years.

It takes a community to honour Veterans, enhance the environment and improve our community, so we look forward to seeing you as we celebrate our great achievement together.
