About this event

Farm & Food Care Ontario is seeking volunteers to help at our Breakfast from the Farm event in Elora! This walk through family-friendly event will be a great way to educate the public on the importance of agriculture in Ontario. Outgoing and friendly volunteers are needed to welcome our visitors and set the tone from the moment they arrive. Please read the full event description.

Date: Saturday, August 27, 2022

Time: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: GrandWay Event Centre, 7445 Wellington County Rd 21, Elora, ON N0B 1S0

Note: Farm & Food Care is also seeking 25-30 volunteers on Friday, August 26, 2022 to assist in packing "Breakfast Bags" for guests. Packing will begin mid-day. Register as a volunteer for the main event, breakfast bag packing or both by clicking "Register" and selecting the ticket type(s).

Commitment Details:

  • We are asking that all volunteers arrive on-site between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m.on Saturday, August 27th.
  • Volunteers will be provided with t-shirts identifying them as volunteers (Be sure to click on your t-shirt size) and are otherwise expected to be appropriately dressed for the weather.
  • There are a number of areas of the event that volunteers will be stationed at, including registration, "Breakfast Bag" curbside pick-up and along the route through the grounds to answer questions about farm animals, crops and equipment. Volunteers are expected to be in their assigned area for the duration of the event.
  • Volunteers may be asked to assist with set up and clean up/tear down.

COVID-19 Measures:

  • Farm & Food Care Ontario will follow all provincial and local health guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
