Description

Presented by The ForUsGirls Foundation Inc. sponsored by The Centre Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design (CEED) #VOTFORHER Ottawa. A political campaign school to empower young women of color with the tools to seek elected political office in Canada, in celebration of International Women's Day.

Context.

With the US 2017 Midterm Elections, more than 100 women were elected to both the House of Representatives and the Senate for the first time in history. Including many first for marginalized communities. During the last Federal Election in Canada, 88 women were elected to the 338-member House of Commons of Canada for 26% of the seats. This represents a gain of twelve over the previous record of 76 women in the 41st Canadian Parliament. We have significant gains to make in Canada politics to achieve gender parity across all levels of elected office (federal, provincial, and municipal). Now is the time to give young from marginalized groups the tools and the resources to empower themselves to seek elected office.

For Her* (binary & nonbinary/ for those who identify as women) women of color.

Have you considered running for municipal council and not sure where to start?

Attend our political campaign school to gain the tools and resources to seek elected office at all levels of government in Canada.
