Description

Black Women Film! Canada is excited to be partnering with Dames Making Games to offer our final workshop of the Elevate Master Class Series - this time in the form of a weekend VR intensive.

Over the course of one weekend, filmmakers dive into creating interactive virtual reality experiences using 360-degree video. Participants will learn about the VR landscape (hardware, software and distribution), design basics, interactive narrative design vs. linear storytelling, and get hands-on with their own projects. In small groups, participants will complete an original 360-degree short that can be experienced on an HMD (head-mounted display), smart phone or desktop computer.
Saturday, April 21 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: DMG’s classroom and studio spaces at the Toronto Media Arts Centre (32 Lisgar Street, Toronto).

The 2018 Masterclass series is open to filmmakers and media artists who are Black female identified of the Canadian African diaspora.
