#vtjtalks brings together entrepreneurs, executives, talent, investors, and tech community members like you every month to network and learn.
As a member of the Vancouver Tech Journal community, you’re invited to a special conversation with New York Times tech reporter Tripp Mickle.
Before joining The New York Times, Tripp spent eight years at The Wall Street Journal, where he wrote about Apple, Google, bourbon, and beer. His book, After Steve: How Apple Became a Trillion-Dollar Company and Lost Its Soul, tells the inside story of the unspoken power struggle between Tim Cook and head designer Jony Ive after the death of Steve Jobs. He began his career as a sportswriter, covering the business of the Olympics. A graduate of Wake Forest University, he grew up in Charlotte, N.C., and lives in San Francisco.
As part of our #vtjtalks event series, Tripp will join Vancouver Tech Journal founder William Johnson to discuss the following:
- What entrepreneurs can learn from Apple's rise to becoming the most valuable company in the world,
- How Apple shifted its approach to products and services on its path to a trillion dollars in value,
- The role executives actually play in product development, culture, and other facets of business,
- How founders can harness the power of storytelling to grow their business,
- And more.
Drinks and light refreshments will be provided.
