3 hrs workshop
Colour matters! This course explores the colour theory from its earliest rudimentary schemes. From the Greek artists who thought in terms of a limited palette (black, yellow and white) to the gamut of colours and hues made presently available due to the advancements in modern chemistry. This course will explain what are pigments, how they behave in a different mediums, how cool colours can be made warm and warm cool, how to make “optical” grays and above all how colours affect one another when placed side by side. Power Point presentations will briefly explain the theoretical background, but students are expected to grasp these theories through experimentation and by creating their own individual palette.
