Event description
Learn everything there is to know about being a part of the Winnipeg Arts Council's peer assessment process

About this Event

Have you ever wondered how decisions are made at the Winnipeg Arts Council? Have you wanted to take part in a jury but don’t know what’s involved? We are holding workshops for people to learn about the peer assessment process and to see exactly how a WAC jury really works. These free workshops will cover all aspects of sitting on a WAC jury including qualifications, roles and responsibilities, and an overview of the process from start to finish.

Over the course of 2 hours we will discuss the peer assessment principle and how it is applied in WAC’s granting programs, we’ll go step-by-step through what we do as the funder and what jurors do to prepare, and then we will run through a jury process from start to finish. Participants will learn how applications are reviewed, how grants are scored and how the final decisions are made about which applications are recommended for funding.

Participants will have plenty of time for questions and answers, and will have the opportunity to submit a nomination form to be considered as a peer assessor
