Walk the Lalpacas
Event Information
Description
Walk a Lalpaca (cross between llama and alpaca) at Maple Hill Urban Farm
If you want to do something really different, then come take a walk with a pack of friendly lalpacas along a lovely, peaceful trail at our farm. Meet every lalpaca in the pack as you take turns switching animals until you’ve walked all four of our fascinating, personality-packed creatures:
-
Pinso - male, dark rust color, born 2003, full alpaca
-
Lolita - pretty beige with speckels, tallest, female, born 2013, hybrid llama / alpaca
-
Samba - black, female, born 2014, hybrid llama / alpaca
-
Macho - black with white spots on face, male, born 2013, hybrid llama / alpaca
Begin your Lalpaca Walk
with a Meet & Greet at Maple Hill. Then take your first lalpaca and start your walk through the different sceneries of the farm (fields, forest, creek, corn maze). Lead your lalpaca and have fun as he, or she, enjoys the trek with you, stopping to nibble on favourite leaves. Among other things these animals are bred for trekking and will happily walk beside you, peacefully accepting your commands without too much fuss.
You will lead the lalpacas on a leisurely stroll, learning about the farm, area and wildlife, interesting facts about llamas and alpacas.
The Lalpaca Walk is a unique group experience. The ticket is good for up to 4 people. Extra adult/children $5 with sharing a lalpaca (currently there are only four at the farm). The walk lasts 30 minutes but can be shortened or lengthened to cater specific needs. Dates and time can be rescheduled when it is pouring outside.
Other dates in mind?
Please write an email to info@sorghum.farm to schedule a walk at a time of your choice.
