Walk Y to Y for Peace
Throughout the Week of November 19th to the 26th, YMCAs across the country promote ways we can build peace, and highlight the peace-building work that happens all year round, both inside and outside the YMCA. The Y is dedicated to building healthy communities - and peace is fundamental to strong, happy and healthy communities.
To wrap up our 2016 Peace Week we invite all those who believe in peace to come together and walk from the South Ridge YMCA to the Downtown YMCA on November 26th.
What is peace?
More than the absence of violence and conflict, peace is the presence of conditions like fairness, inclusion, empathy, security, and respect for diversity. Peace is also the ongoing work of building and rebuilding these conditions.
Let’s all walk together for Peace.
