Hear from veterans and experts with lived experience

RJ Formanek and Reinier DeSmit both received a diagnosis of FASD as adults and will share how this knowledge has helped them understand their journey, and develop strategies to live full lives and mentor others.

RJ is co-founder of the FASD advocacy and support group "Red Shoes Rocks" which shows that FASD is real and many people are dealing with it every day, all around the world. RJ speaks widely, advocating for people living on the spectrum.

Reiner uses talents for music and visual imaging (photography and video) as well as his training as a Life Counsellor using the "art of communication" in whatever form that might entail to help others.

Hear about the benefits of diagnosis and where to pursue this in our region.

A panel of parents and caregivers will round out our day.
