Description

Exhibit and Exposure Photography Festival Opening

01 Feb 2019 - 20 May 2019

This group exhibition of photography by Edmund Clark, Paula Luttringer, Peter van Agtmael and NOOR Za'atari Project artists: Nina Berman with Andrea Bruce, Alixandra Fazzina and Stanley Greene is guest curated by Dona Schwartz, PhD, Professor, Department of Art, University of Calgary. She writes, “Perhaps the ultimate denial of freedom is captivity; this exhibition brings together photographic work that explores state suppression, control and containment, and summons the never-ending quest for individual liberty and human dignity.”

The exhibition is organized by Founders’ Gallery with support from Calgary’s Resolve Photographic Services and ABL Imaging Group, and the generous loan of work by Edmund Clark from The International Center of Photography, New York City.
