Description

Water Speaks Summer Camp Program 2017

Innovative Learning through Exploration, Experimentation, Expression and Enterprise

  • Are you a Grade 6, 7 or 8 student? Are you interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math? Are you self-motivated and want to find a way to learn to channel your interests into action? Then this camp is for you!

  • Based on the Ontario Curriculum, this program encourages participants to learn how to leverage in-class activities through four E’s: Explore, Experiment, Express and Enterprise. Our focus is to prepare the future generation to look at the issues through the lens of water.

  • We will learn about identification and morphology of trees, DNA and water testing, hydrology and cartography. You will also learn to create your own fund raising programs, blog sites and develop business ideas. At the end of the week, you will have the chance to show your accomplishments to your parents at our Water Speaks Café!

  • This program is designed and taught by Dr. Romila Verma. She holds a PhD in Hydrology and teaches in the School of Environment and Department of Geography at the University of Toronto.
