Event description

Description

Let's capture some sunny summer vibes with bright hibiscus greenery that lasts all year long! In this beginner/intermediate workshop, we will learn how to use concentrated watercolours, masking fluid, as well as a variety of salts, drips, and splashes to create a vibrant hibiscus painting. Pinks, purples, greens, yellows- this class will let you explore whatever colours your heart desires as well as learn how to layer overtop of masked areas.

You’ll end the evening with a beautiful painting you can take home, as well as a good filling of watercolour knowledge you can use to experiment and play with your newly mastered medium.

This workshop is perfect for newbies and people looking for a refresher on watercolour techniques. Watercolour is a wild medium, but don’t be shy, come pick up a brush and try it out!

What will we cover?

Step by step, artist Jennifer Fryer will guide you through creating a beautiful watercolour painting. In the process of making your painting, you will learn how to use and control watercolours with a “wet-on-wet” technique and masking fluid, concentrated watercolours, as well as how to use a variety of salts in your work.
