Waterloo Cycling Classic 2017
Mon, 7 August 2017, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM EDT
Grass track racing is a popular summer sport in the UK where riders take their track bikes and race them in a grassy field. Team Kallisto-FCV and the KW Cycling Academy are proud to be bringing grass track racing to Old Oak Park, located close to the heart of downtown Waterloo.
This event, one of the first in Ontario, will be contested on a 300m grass track, and will allow competitors of all ages and abilities to compete on their bike of choice! Mountain, road, cross, track or hybrid will all be welcome to compete in any of the many competition events planned for the day.
The emphasis will be on fun and fair play, allowing riders to select the category they feel best suits their bike and ability. Standing start lap, 5 lap mass start, 20lap mass start and handicap races will all be included in the day’s events.
This event is going to be a fun day of racing, followed by a BBQ, with proceeds going to support youth cycling.
