About this event
We invite you to join us in amplifying and celebrating the legacy of Canadian Women of African Descent at this year's Women Only Black Tie Gala event: Cross-Generational Conversations.
In Canada, we celebrate Black History Month in February. During this time, the contributions and accomplishments of Canadians of African descent are recognized and celebrated.
Canadians take this time to recognize the many achievements of the African diaspora who, throughout history, have done much to elevate Canada’s culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous landscape.
Every year, in commemoration of Black History Month, When African Women Talk celebrates by bringing together women of African descent and allies from across Alberta to engage in meaningful dialogue about systemic racism with a focus on the critical issues and proposed solutions that can help to dismantle these systems.
This year, we have arranged a multi-generational panel that will address these critical issues and the effect it has on their daily lives. Our esteemed panelists will be taking the stage to share how they’ve navigated these issues and their continued commitment to challenging these systems in order to foster diversity, equity and inclusion for Canadian women of African descent.
Join us as we take our seat at the table!
