About this event

On September 21st, 2020 the Global Network on Safer Cities and UN-Habitat launched the 40 Days Safer Cities Challenge. Throughout the 40 days, the aim is to raise awareness worldwide of the power of creative innovations including arts and culture for safety in cities and urban crime prevention; to promote creative citizen actions and innovation for cities; and to amplify innnovation actions towards urban safety dimensions of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As part of the 40 Day Safer Cities Challenge, the Canadian Municipal Network on Crime Prevention (CMNCP) and REACH Edmonton Council for Safe Communities (Alberta, Canada) would like to invite you to a webinar on Data Driven Futures with REACH Edmonton.

Description

REACH is Edmonton’s council for safe communities. As a backbone organization REACH acts as a background support for groups working towards safer communities. One of these backbone roles is the collection, management and sharing of data with our partners in the community. This presentation will give brief overviews of Community and Social Services Hotline (211), the ArcGIS data system that REACH utilizes, the Community Safety Deployment Dashboard and the 24/7 Crisis Diversion Program. Through these initiatives REACH is working towards a common approach to data driven decision making which will ultimately lead to safer more vibrant communities.
