Event description
This event showcases how AI can assist us to reduce homelessness in the community during Covid-19.

About this Event

Whether you are a nonprofit/ charity fighting for social justice or a tech designer, this webinar is right for you!

COVID has exasperated the inequalities across the city. Since March 2020, more than 3 million jobs have been lost which has made residents more vulnerable to homelessness than ever before.

Right now, it takes someone facing homelessness up to 48hours to find critical services. How can we bring these numbers down in a data-driven, precise way? What role does emerging technology like artificial intelligence play especially during this pandemic?

Join us to learn how tech can help us serve the underserved community. Led by innovative, young entrepreneurs of Ample Labs, this session introduces an AI chatbot (Chalmers) which points individuals facing homelessness to personalized care.

Partnered with Ample Labs, the City of Barrie is the first municipality to implement an AI system to address homelessness. In this session, Ample labs also walk us through this noble case study.

About the Presenters:

Ample Labs envisions a world where no one has to face homelessness and they use AI to make this dream come true. Their first AI service, Chalmers, is a chatbot connecting individuals facing homelessness to resources in the time of need.
