Senior Staff Officer Strategic Outreach (Western Canada), Royal Canadian Navy

Lieutenant Commander Melissa Fudge joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 2001 as a Regular Force Naval Warfare Officer. In 2004, LCdr Fudge completed a component transfer to the Naval Reserve and changed occupation to Intelligence; she has spent the last 18 years on full-time active service. As an Intelligence Officer, LCdr Fudge was employed in a multitude of strategic analyst positions in Victoria, BC. In 2013, LCdr Fudge was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (Military) for providing strategic analysis to global intelligence and security agencies on human smuggling in Southeast Asia.

LCdr Fudge has also participated in various exercises and operations, such as Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) (2008) & Trident Fury (2011) [Joint and Multi-National Warfare Exercises]. In various capacities, LCdr Fudge sailed in Her Majesty Canadian Ships: ALGONQUIN, VANCOUVER, WINNIPEG, and WHITEHORSE.

Upon returning from her deployment on Operation CARIBBE, LCdr Fudge assumed her new role as Senior Staff Officer Strategic Outreach (Western Canada) for Directorate Naval Strategic Management in Dec 2018. LCdr Fudge also concurrently serves as Honorary Aide de Camp to the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.
