FAQ
Q: Are jerseys going to be given out to registrants?
A: Yes! A jersey for each participant is included within the registration cost of this program. We will also have other cool Goalie Army Academy items available for purchase.
Q: Our child has trained with Goalie Army Academy before. What's different about this program compared to your 1-hour development sessions?
A: Although we stand by our 1-hour development sessions for our students, this intensive and progressive development program will enable students to fast-track their advancement in their final push ahead of their competitive tryouts on and off-ice. Our emphasis on overall development during this week will supply students with the tools which they require to ensure that they are at the top of their technical, physical and mental game by the end of the week.
Q: My child requires assistance with their equipment. Will you have someone to help them?
A: Absolutely! Our staff will assist your child with their equipment if needed.
Q: Is lunch supplied to registrants of this program by Goalie Army Academy.
A: No. All registrants must bring snacks, lunches, and water bottles from home. Refilling of water bottles will be available at the facility at any time. We simply ask that all snacks and lunches are nut-free.
Q: Do you offer before and after care service?
A: Please note that although this is a week-long full day intensive goalie development program, it is not a daycare service. If you need assistance in finding a goalie-themed activity camps and daycare, we can point you in a couple of directions.
Q: My child is just starting as a goalie. Will this program be appropriate?
A: This program is open to minor hockey goaltenders of all levels which are focused and keen to advance their overall game. All students can expect an eventful, challenging day on and off of the ice. Although newer goaltenders are welcome, the ability to skate, recover, and move with goaltending equipment is necessary for a positive experience.
Q: What Covid-19 protocols do you have in place to ensure the safety of my child?
A: We take the health of our students seriously and are asking that each family ensures that they are self-screening, and following the guidance of our health officials. We will have hand sanitizer available for students to use at any time they wish.
Q: Why does the program finish on Friday at 2:00 PM instead of at 4:00 PM like all of the other days?
A: Simply put, summer is short and many families like to get a jump start on their weekends during the summer months before the commitments of the hockey season start up again. As always, we're here to help - Cheers!
