Mike Bencsik: 2016 Canadian Weightliftng Champion (105+ kg)
Mike is a full time RMT (Registered Massage Therapy) student in Kelowna, BC, and has been competing in weightlifting for 10 years and coaching for 6 years. He has been involved with BC Weightlifting for 13 years.
Rachel Siemens: 2016 Canadan Weightlifting Champion (-69 kg)
Rachel is a Registered Kinesiologist in Victoria, BC, completing her degree at the University of Victoria with an Honours Thesis on CrossFit. She has been coaching weightlifting for 4 years and competing for 5 years.
With these workshops, you can expect:

Beginner weightlifting 1 Day Course (2h)
Saturday Oct 15th 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Foundational techniques for snatch, clean, and jerk will be covered.
Course includes technical breakdown of all three lifts, as well as basic exposure to accessory movements to correct common faults.
Ideal for the beginner lifter (0 - 1 year experience)
Advanced Weightlifting 2 Day Course

Sunday Oct 16th 9:00am - 1:30pm
Advanced weightlifting training to take your lifts to the next level. After a brief technical summary, athletes will be exposed to intensive training for speed and power.
Classic lifts will be covered, as well as accessory technique and strength movements. Focused training on speed and acceleration of the bar and the finer points of strength work.
Immediate feedback and cueing on all classic and accessory lifts. In depth discussions will be had on the purpose performance methods behind specific exercises.
Ideal for lifters with 1+ years of experience.
