Scramble (Shotgun) Format - A shotgun means that each foursome will begin playing at exactly the same time (one team will start on hole 1, another on hole 2, another on hole 3, etc.). Every team ends up finishing 18 holes at the same time. A scramble is a team golf game in which each player in a foursome hits their ball from the tee. The team chooses the best of the four shots as the place from which each player will hit their next shot. This process is repeated until the first person on your team gets the ball in the hole, and you record the fewest number of shots it took for someone on your team to get the ball in the hole.
