About this Event

Enjoy our new Well-Spoken Wednesday Speaker Series. We’re calling all trivia buffs! Come join our Collections Curator, Stacy McLennan as she leads an exciting trivia game based on artifacts in our collection. Learn the history of some of the weird, wonderful, and wacky objects that have been collected by the museum throughout the years.

Stacy McLennan is the Collections Curator & Registrar for the Region of Waterloo Museums, a position she has held for the past 12 years. During this time, Stacy has come into contact with a wide range of historic and contemporary objects, and has enjoyed learning their history and intended use.

We ask all visitors to wear a face mask to protect our staff and other visitors. Face masks, combined with hand washing and physical distancing can reduce the spread of COVID-19.

After the talk take time to explore our newest exhibit Human Plus: Real Lives + Real Engineering. Please note, the main gallery, What Makes Us Who We Are?, the Region of Waterloo Hall of Fame, and Doon Heritage Village are closed.

Tickets must be purchased in advance. The Human Plus exhibit offers guests of all ages the chance to explore and create a range of low and high-tech tools that extend the abilities of the human body. Human Plus showcases compelling stories from a unique field of engineering that not only helps people carry out their day-to-day routines, but also helps them realize lifelong dreams.

Human Plus: Real Lives + Real Engineering was created by the New York Hall of Science in partnership with Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and the Quality of Life Technology Center with funding from the National Science Foundation.

As per the Province of Ontario’s document A Framework for Reopening our Province: Stage 2 they recommend that heritage institutions like the Region of Waterloo Museums collect this information for the purposes of contact tracing. This information would only be shared with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in the event that an individual who attended the museum tests positive for Covid-19, on our about the time you attended.
