Event description

Description

"A cathedral" and "magical" are some of the words used to describe Gillies Grove. The tallest living tree in Ontario is in this grove of Eastern White Pines! At 13-storeys tall, it is part of an incredible stand of pines that is a rare remnant of the forests that once covered the shores of the Ottawa River. It is part of a National Historic Site and is protected by the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

This is a very special place to slow down and take our time to visit with these old, wise beings on a Forest Wellness Walk. We'll awaken our senses, quiet our minds and open to the healing power of nature.

Gillies Grove is next to the Galilee Centre, and on October 16 the Galilee dining room is hosting an Oktoberfest luncheon, so you might want to reserve a spot with Galilee and enjoy their luncheon afterwards. You need to register for the luncheon separately. Let them know you're with the Forest Therapy Walk -- they are reserving a group table for us. https://www.galileecentre.com/oktoberfest-luncheon---october-16-2018/
