Mindfulness through the West African Elements
In this one-hour session, participants will engage with West African Indigenous wisdom and storytelling and experience them as tools for Mindfulness, wellbeing and self-inquiry.
Participants will learn about the five elements of the Dagara Medicine Wheel and apply their meanings to everyday life. During this session, each participant will be guided to create a Medicine Wheel of their own.
Materials Needed:
Drawing Materials of any kind with the colours Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and White
Pens and pencils

QIMOYO is a Counsellor, Psychoeducator and interdisciplinary artist. Their creative process serves as a multi-sensory therapeutic channel for energetic information stored in human emotion and experience. Born visually and hearing impaired, QIMOYO intuitively draws from lifelong training in music, visual art and performance to embody and evoke the flow of emotion. Their work has been used in local nonprofit and small business creative projects related to mindfulness, mental health and New Age music to facilitate transcendental and visionary experiences. Their their work has been exhibited by Visual Arts Mississauga, the Queer Songbook Orchestra, Black Women In Motion and lululemon Canada. QIMOYO is also a committed activist and consultant in Human Resources and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and sits on the Board of Directors of Moyo Health & Community Services, serving Peel Region.
