Our first program of 2023 promises drama, fantasy and loads of passion with repertoire hailing solely from France. The night will start with the beautiful, impressionistic Danse by Debussy. Dynamic and virtuosic violinist Ken Lin* then joins the West Coast Symphony Orchestra, adding some gypsy flair with crowd favourite, Ravel's Tzigane. The second half of the concert features Berlioz's epic, orchestral masterpiece, Symphonie Fantastique. With unrequited love, obsession, nightmares, witches and the ominous Dies irae, excitement will be at its peak!
Program:
Claude Debussy (arr. Maurice Ravel), Danse
Maurice Ravel, Tzigane*
Hector Berlioz, Symphonie Fantastique
Christ Church Cathedral recommends masks but they are no longer required.
Financially, the orchestra relies on the generosity of audience members to offset concert and overhead costs, which average $29 per person per concert. The suggested donation of $27 per person can be contributed through Eventbrite on the next page.
