Event description

Description

As researchers we do problem solving for a living and finding new ideas is part of our everyday live. Talking to researchers from different disciplines helps broadens ones perspective and nourishes our creativity. Join us in this “Researchers book club” to meet every other Thursday over lunch (noon – 1:00) starting July 27th at the grad-club to discuss part or an entire book (feel free to bring your own lunch) .

As a starter we can discuss “Da Vinci and the 40 answers” Part I on July 27th and Part II on August 9th – The book is available through multiple sources online if you just google it.

“The book “Da Vinci and the 40 answers - A play book for creativity and fresh ideas” is based on the principles of TRIZ – the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving that began with Genrikh Altshuller. In his study of hundreds of thousands of patents, Altshuller determined there are only about 1,500 basic problems – and each of these problems can be solved by applying one or more of the 40 universal answers.
