Are you interested in learning how you can apply coding to understand the world around you? Coding and
computer science play a large role in all fields of science today. In this full day youth (Ages 15-19) workshop you will learn great skills that will come in handy no matter what career path you choose. After this workshop you will be able to use information that is all around us to create new knowledge. This event is the first of its kind put on by the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) who work to engage youth in science. The workshop would not be possible without the financial support of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC).
In this full day workshop you will:

Learn from experts in fields such as bioinformatics, computer programming, biodiversity, and more.

Play with real data collected throughout the day, scientific research and publically available data.

Explore the concepts behind coding that will make you a better coder no matter your skill level.

Use your new skills to solve a mystery!
