Thu, 2 March 2017, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM PST
(Formerly: 'Changes to the New BC Societies Act')
The Executive Directors and the BC Societies Act
The new BC Societies Act is in force as of November 28, 2016.
The Act says that once that happens, you have two years to transition your existing constitution and bylaws onto the new Registrar’s system.
Regardless of when you make that transition, as soon as the Act comes into force, your society must operate in accordance with the new Act.
Ann Moskow and Claire Rettie, who did the training on the provisions of the new Act, are holding workshops on the essential parts of the legislation that your board and senior manager need to know and act on during your society’s journey to being compliant
Ann Moskow is a Certified Management Consultant whose company TransformAction Consulting (Ltd.), focuses on strategic governance and strategic change. Ann has more than 35 years as a consultant, including extensive experience with the current Society Act. She’s helped new organizations develop their constitutions and bylaws, societies that were merging create consolidated versions to fit their new society, and established societies bring their constitutions and bylaws up to date.
