Description
Understand the basic functions and responsibilities of non-profit boards. This workshop will arm participants with helpful skills to apply to their own boards. It will include topics related to structure, best practices, and practical exercises to apply governance in your non-profit.
As a participant you will:
- Learn what “governance” means
- Know your general legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities
- Learn tools and resources to assist your board to achieve organizational goals
- Understand how to govern, manage and implement (and who does what!) in your non-profit
- Become familiar with how to recruit, orient and train new board members
- Take home a workbook packed with detailed information and exercises to share your learning with fellow board members
Ideal for:
- Anyone who is currently on a board, wants to be on a board, or a refresher for those with past board experience. You will take home the skills
