About this event
Federal mandates are driving the automotive industry to zero emissions. In fleet operations, the heavy concentration of equipment, long in service hours, and in some cases central filling or charging draw many factors into the decision-making process. But where do you start?
The Vehicle Technology Centre and Siemens Canada, with assistance from Red River College Polytech are hosting a one-day information seminar exploring the steps and critical decisions that must be navigated when transitioning a fleet of vehicles to zero emissions. This event is intended to address fleet needs from taxis to heavy trucks and off-road vehicles, bus, courier, agriculture, construction equipment and others. We will also cover the implications for operators, operations and infrastructure planners and maintenance staff.
We will explore the decisions that have to be made from the type of fuel to use, dispensing, electrical, capital, operational changes infrastructure changes, employee training and more. We will also be touring the Red River College Polytech VTEC lab including their new Siemens Level 4 battery charger installation.
Speakers from Manitoba Hydro, New Flyer, Siemens, Winnipeg Transit, and AC Transit in Oakland and others will be presenting and taking your questions. Most speakers will be in person with some joining us virtually.
