Wed, 6 April 2016, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM PDT
You are cordially invited to join the BCOUG at our next Vancouver event, presented and sponsored by NetApp™!
Speaker: Steve Schuettinger, Oracle Solution Architect, NetApp
Topic: Oracle Application Integration
Abstract: Please join Steve Schuettinger, Oracle Solution Architect, in a discussion that focuses on what’s important to you when deploying Oracle databases. Suggested topics include performance, scalability, availability, manageability, root cause analysis and backup/recovery. These are suggested because we’d like to encourage you to bring your top-of-mind questions to the session. Nothing is off limits. The objective is to help you understand how NetApp solutions can help you meet your service level objectives without increasing risk.
NetApp has thousands of customers who have chosen to deploy their Oracle databases on NetApp. The value discussion points will be underscored with real world examples. You’ll also learn what NetApp and Oracle are engineering together with focus on you, the Oracle DBA.
Speaker: Tony Lee, System Engineer Manager, NetApp

- Decrease latency by up to 20x
- Increase throughput by up to 4x
- Increase your ROI and time to value by up to 50%
Watch a technical demonstration of Oracle running on NetApp All Flash FAS storage arrays.
About the Speakers
Steven Schuettinger – Oracle Solution Architect, NetApp
Steven began his career working as an application developer for a US defense contractor using Oracle version 5. He soon became a DBA where he focused on performance and manageability. Steve was the first Oracle DBA at Sun Microsystems, in Silicon Valley, in 1992 and worked as their technical alliance manager with Oracle. He has been consulting with customers for many years while managing the technical aspects of the relationship between NetApp, where he has worked since 2005, and Oracle. During his career he has developed an interactive style of working with DBAs where he talks about the challenges they face and the unique solutions NetApp provides. All of these discussions are delivered in the language of the DBA, rather than the storage administrator.
