#WhatWorks Workshop: Careers in Tech with David Hargreaves
This workshop will equip you with strategies for a successful tech career—from job search through career progression. Learn what companies are really looking for and how to best position yourself in a fast-changing industry.
We will also cover key business skills that can enable you to overcome challenges and find success when it comes to:
- networking
- developing the mindset to thrive in tech culture
- overcoming gender biases
- leveraging the value of diversity for career and organizational performance
Evidence shows that companies with gender diversity, especially in leadership, have been widely shown to have better performance in many areas including return on equity, profit and shareholder value.
The good news is that the tech sector has broadly accepted the benefits of gender diversity and there are many efforts to improve how companies attract, retain and grow gender diverse work forces.
Companies are working on areas such as team culture, addressing unconscious bias, improving workplace environments and equalizing employment terms and benefits. Executives, HR professionals, and individuals alike can leverage these initiatives to drive career and organizational progress.
