About this Event

#WhatWorks Workshop: Speaking Up with Jill Tipping

In this workshop, you will learn and practice evidence-based techniques for effective communication and public speaking that will equip you to be heard and influence.

Whether it’s the meeting room, the boardroom, or the podium, it’s vital to develop the communication skills and confidence you need to build a career in the technology industry.

Women often second-guess ourselves when communicating and this can result in not speaking up at opportune moments. It’s possible to miss out on presenting great ideas, having difficult but necessary conversations, or delivering the gift of feedback.

When speaking up, how can you package your ideas to stick? This workshop will teach the six key attributes of effective communication and how to use them to make your messages memorable and actionable.

The session will also illuminate the fundamentals of success for public speaking, and engage you to practice with engaging real-life scenarios to hone your skills.

Workshop outline:

● Explore what is effective in communication

● Consider how this can be applied at work day to day

● Address the anxieties and realities of public speaking

● Equip you with the tools and techniques to speak confidently in public

Space is limited so be sure to get your ticket soon.
