Description

Board governance and best-practice structures aren't always enough to grow a not-for-profit's membership or influence. Without the right mindset and human dynamics between executive board members, directors and board committees, not-for-profits cannot fulfill their true potential.
In this captivating workshop, Amber will unpack her own experiences as she discovered the need to go beyond best practice to govern and lead.

Learning Objectives:

1. Recognize the need to foster board relationships that create collaboration and ownership
2. Value and create space for Board members unique gifts and skills sets

About the facilitator:

Amber McMillan, PMP CMC CVA is currently the President Elect for PMI-Vancouver Island. She has spent most of her career as a Manager and Director in the non-profit sector and has dedicated her career to spreading the knowledge of Project, Change and People Management principals in simple, practical ways.
She is employed as Executive Director for a large non-profit child care centre in Victoria, BC.
