Where Do You Stand - March 31st
Fri, 31 March 2017, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM PDT
We invite you to engage in an evening of dialogue surrounding ideas of home with respect to Indigenous land. As a student cohort at SFU's Semester in Dialogue, we hope to engage participants in small group dialogues and conversations related to the implications of living on stolen land. We hope to ask ourselves these questions:
- What does it mean to call Canada home?
- What is a settler, and what does it mean to be a settler?
- What is decolonization?
Our goals of the dialogue are to provide a platform for Indigenous voices, to challenge assumptions, to unlearn and re - learn, and to plant seeds of change. We hope you will join us in this important conversation.
It is important to note that this event will be taking place on the unceded, ancestral territories of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil-Waututh Peoples.
Both of the events are wheelchair accessible.
