Event description
A fun and whimsical folk art painting class for beginners

About this Event

Whimsical Folk Art | LVL: 1 - Beginner friendly

Instructor: Jacquelyn Miccolis

Included: Acrylic Paint, wooden canvas, art supplies & 2 hrs of instruction.

During this workshop participants will dive in the enchanting world of folk art, with a touch of whimsy. This style of art has gained popularly, because of Nova Scotia's beloved artist, Maud Lewis. Her colorful and cheerful folk artwork has become a cherished staple of our province.

This an excellent class for beginner painters, as we will be focusing on the joy of this simplistic style of playful art. Working with fun patterns and elements inspired by nature, you will learn how to create your own masterpiece.

"Jacquelyn's painted colorful cacti is a detail that would probably have delighted Nova Scotia’s queen of folk art Maud Lewis, who famously left virtually no surface of her tiny home untouched by her brush." - The Chronicle Herald , Stephen Cooke
