Event description

Description

CCA is delighted to be co-hosting this White Belt in Governance in partnership with Leading Edge Group a world leader in Quality Improvement training and consultancy services.

The workshop has been specifically designed for Board Directors to understand the role that Boards play in Quality Improvement at the governance level.

This 1-day training workshop introduces fundamentals in quality improvement (QI) and its relevance for community-based health and social services. The workshop will focus on key quality concepts and methodologies (Lean and Six Sigma principles, value-add and the 8 wastes) and QI tools and techniques for Boards (e.g. Balanced Scorecard). This workshop has been designed to be interactive, where participants will engage in discussions and explore how Boards address quality improvement at the governance level: what it means to be a LEAN leader; understanding the roles and responsibilities in QI at the staff, management and Board levels; and how to support management and operations within an oversight role in the community-based health and social services. Best practices in QI and Governance will be shared and participants will be asked to share their own challenges and successes.

The workshop is going to be structured in four key sections:

- Understanding the fundamentals of Quality Improvement (QI)/Continuous Improvement (CI); and what it means to organizational performance.

- Understanding good framework structures of QI

- Understanding good governance structures and QI/CI accountability

- Understanding QI/CI governance tools and techniques

The workshop is going to be facilitated by Callie Woodward, Senior transformation consultant and Lean Black Belt facilitator with Leading Edge Group with over 20 years' experience in the field of strategies development, continuous improvement and change management across the public and private sectors.
