Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) – Train-the-Trainer

Prerequisite(s): WHMIS Workshop
**For all Train-the-Trainer courses, participants must have taken the corresponding workshop within 6 months.
Cost: $100/person for members / $150/person for non-members

The purpose of this course is to ensure that participants are well prepared to deliver the WHMIS workshop at their workplaces. There is a focus on facilitation basics including: Instructor preparation, introductory comments, how to set up the workshop exercises and key points to introduce.
There will be an opportunity to briefly review the workshop content which includes: the identification, handling, and use of hazardous and potentially dangerous materials in the workplace, but the emphasis will be on practical, hands-on facilitation training.
Participants will be asked to present the workshop content throughout the course. We provide a safe learning environment where participants can receive feedback from their peers. . This course will provide participants with the knowledge and confidence required to deliver the workshop content to co-workers in their facilities.
Additionally, participants are provided with the tools required to deliver the workshop content, including: online access to the participant’s manual, the workshop PowerPoint/PowerPoint(s) and participant’s handouts or workbooks, as required, and a copy of the trainer’s manual, lesson plans and additional materials to support facilitation of the workshop.
WHMIS Train-the-Trainer is beneficial to those individuals who are responsible for delivering health and safety training programs in your facility.
By providing a combination of class-room instruction, student participation, course work and presentation practice, we are able to provide a complete understanding of the requirements for delivering an effective WHMIS training program.
