Event description

Description

Many litigants or people who become involved in court do not realize that in addition to lawyers, there are many other professionals who may be very helpful to their matters. One example are "process servers". These are people who deliver and serve court papers. Another are court reporting services, where one holds "out of court" examinations in preparation for trial. These professionals are especially helpful for litigants who represent themselves.

In this talk, lawyer Heather Hui-Litwin will explain what these professionals do, as well the roles of mediators and paralegals. Guest speakers include mediators Gregg Fenten and Laura Tarcea-Catone and paralegal Karim Bhaloo.

This is part of the Law At the Library Series at the Toronto Public Library.
