About this Event

Sometimes something that starts as a question becomes a quest, filling your mind and life with further questions and leading you on a journey that you could have never anticipated. What are the questions that consume you, the stories that compel you? How does writing enable you to pursue them more fully? And how do you know when these writings are meant for more than just you? These are the topics you will explore with author Ellen Duffield during an interactive talk on Thursday, September 19 at the Muskoka Authors Association meeting.

Duffield works as the Director of the Leadership Studio at Muskoka Woods and spends most of her time facilitating experiential leadership learning. She co-founded a leadership development initiative that now operates in several countries around the world, pastored a church, has self-published 4 books, and has been engaged in leadership research and design for over 30 years. When she has a day off or wakes early in the morning she almost always grabs a pen and begins to write. Sometimes the words are creative, as in the Canadian myth she is currently working on. Sometimes they explore the sacred or the woundedness of her past. Other times they are a place to assimilate information gained over 30 years, as in the Brave Women: Building Bridges to Transformation book she released on International Women’s Day in 2018 and a follow up book slated for release this November for young women.

Ellen and her husband Tim have two grown children and 6 grandchildren.

Location: Watson Labour Law, 58 Ontario Street, Bracebridge. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Meeting starts at 7:00 pm.

Fee: MAA Members: Free, Non-Members: $20
