This training is open only to Mental Health & Addiction Staff within Health PEI unless otherwise stated.

This course is designed for managers, supervisors, and front line staff. The course provides instruction about the use of PSMS to support the identification of areas for system improvement and staff learning. The goal is to focus on promotion of client and staff safety by reducing error and identifying system weaknesses.

You will develop an understanding of a “just culture” along with strategies for promoting safe practices in the workplace. You will also learn how and when to enter incidents into the Provincial Safety Management System (PSMS) as a mechanism for creating safety for everyone as well as for data tracking and trending purposes.
