This certified training course introduces participants to the standards of a trained wilderness hike leader for day hikes where the hike is more than 2 km from road access.
Much of the emphasis is instructional but, as a certification program, a significant portion of the agenda is assessment and skills evaluation. Dress for outdoor activities. The certification issued to the successful candidate is a sanctioned standard and will assist the candidates in leading wilderness hikes for clubs and youth groups, and finding work in the hiking and adventure travel industry.
Each trainee receives a 50+ page Student Manual, which contains useful information. In addition, the Wilderness Day Hike Leader course also provides successful participants with a Wallet Card and a high quality, iron-on embroidered badge.
Please note a caution regarding the location: GPS units usually will not direct the user to this address. It is on the corner of Airport Rd and County Rd 5 north of Hwy 9, east of Orangeville.
Regular Price: $60.00
NOTE: Enter via Simcoe Street and not Ritson Road North.
