Wind Design Challenge Workshop (Ages 10-12) - #PowerShiftWR

Description
TREC Education, a leading provider of energy education programs,will facilitate this engaging workshop in which youth participants will work with wind turbines and explore how they are used to turn wind energy into mechanical energy and electrical energy – through designing and building their own model wind turbines.
In small groups, participants will be guided and encouraged to try out their own ideas and designs to build a functioning model wind turbine.
*Parental/caregiver supervision required*
Free coffee, tea & Wifi will be available.
Participant age range: 10-12 years
Participant spots available: 30 (Limit of two per order, do not order ticket for parent/caregiver)
Parking: Limited parking is available at Perimeter Institute. Free 2 hour parking is available in UpTown Waterloo within walking distance.
Waterloo Global Science Initiative is bringing organizations in the Waterloo Region with an interest in sustainability and energy issues together under the #PowerShiftWR banner for a week of public programming that will engage all ages in discussions about our energy choices.
