Event description

Description

Protecting assets – be those engineered, natural, or human – from climate change is an important priority to ensure the safety and prosperity of communities. Municipal and regional decision-makers along with other infrastructure owners need to consider how best they can adapt to a changing climate in order to reduce their risk, limit local impacts, and ensure the safety and utility of municipal assets. To help with this, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is developing the Building Regional Adaptation Capacity and Expertise (BRACE) program to build regional climate change adaptation capacity and expertise across Canada. NRCan is currently working in partnership with the provincial governments to identify regional needs and to establish targeted priorities for regional BRACE programming.

Calling upon your local expertise, this workshop aims to gather information on your perspectives on climate action and the recommendations you would like to make to the Province on how future BRACE funding and programming could help to support your work.
