Winnipeg - The Ask Her Talks
Event Information
Description
It’s time to shift the conversation — to challenge our understanding and beliefs about how philanthropy can truly improve the human condition.
There are remarkable leaders in Africa at the community level. Women are at the heart of the response to AIDS, are overwhelmingly the frontline health care workers, are tackling the epidemic of sexual violence — and yet we rarely, if ever, hear from them. African women are leading the way, and are experts on what works, what kind of support is most effective, and what challenges need to be met.
The Ask Her Talks is a speaker series that gives Canadians a unique opportunity to hear directly from dynamic African women experts at the frontlines of the response to the HIV & AIDS epidemic. The inaugural series of The Ask Her Talks took place in May 2015 before sold-out crowds in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa and these new Talks in Winnipeg promise to be just as enlightening, stimulating and provocative.
This installment of Talks will take place in conjunction with World AIDS Day, and will feature an all-new slate of HIV & AIDS activists, speaking to everything from preventing the burn-out of frontline workers, to the critical role of philanthropy in bringing the global AIDS epidemic to an end. It’s time to hear directly from the experts.
Doors Open: 6:30pm
