About this event
UPDATE on October 1: Tickets are now subsidized to $5 each, thanks for our sponsors! Registration closes October 9.
The second week of October is a week of celebration for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. On October 10, the high level bridge will be lit in purple to recognize women's contributions to science throughout the history.
WiSER is also screening Ms. Scientist, a documentary produced by Edmonton filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk. This 45-minute documentary features women scientists across Canada and explores the gender issues they face in their careers.
Guests will meet in front of the monument in the Constable Ezio Faraone Park (intersection of 99 Ave and 109 ST, outside of Grandin LRT station) and take a walk with our WiSER executives on the high level bridge. We will explore the history of WinSTEM week on this 20-minutes tour. Then we will arrive at 99ten (9910 109 ST) for food and film screening. Following the film, there will be a Q+A session with filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk.
