Winter Carnival Snow Moon at the Observatory

In collaboration with Corner Brook's Annual Winter Carnival, on February 19th, 2019 from 7:00-9:00pm, Grenfell Campus is offering the general public the opportunity to learn about astronomy, take a look through telescopes outside (weather permitting) and receive a tour of the observatory, with a craft section for kids! This event is FREE of charge and NO CARNIVAL BUTTON NECESSARY. See details below and we hope to see you there!
- Upon arrival at 7:00pm, please meet us in the back P2 parking lot, towards Long Term Care, as we will begin our event with outside viewings through telescopes, miniscopes, and binoculars - WEATHER PERMITTING - if there is lousy weather, please follow the signage from the Pool Entrance to the A&S Atrium. Don't worry - if you are unfamiliar with Grenfell Campus, we will have volunteers to guide you!
- The tours of the Observatory will still take place regardless of weather, but please be aware that there will be no viewings if there is poor visability
- There will be hot chocolate, coffee, cake, and a variety of hot snack foods for registered guests to enjoy
- This is an all ages event, however any guest under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult
- There is a capacity of 60 guests, therefore once registration is full, there will not be any extra tickets given out
- There will be a registration table with ballots for door prizes upon arrival
- We will end the event with space related trivia and prizes for all ages!
